Description

FoodLink Web Application is a web-based online platform that hopes to fight food wastage by linking surplus food from people, restaurants, and corporations to charities and non-profits that could distribute it to needy people. The platform is conceptualized to address critical issues about food wastage and hunger by promoting an automated system for intelligent matching of donors and recipients according to the quantity and type of food available to ensure efficient distribution of surplus food to most needy areas. These will be some key business objectives: building powerful partnerships with food businesses and charities, smoothing out the overall efficiency of food donations, and building trust via confirmation systems that will notify donors when their donations have been successfully claimed. To further build on its donation process, FoodLink is going to introduce a claim feature that allows nonprofits and NGOs to browse available donations and claim food directly from donors. It also grants the donor the right to determine a time frame and location for pickups of food items for flexibility and efficiency in coordinating donations between the donor and the recipient. In addition to facilitating food donation, FoodLink will offer formidable capabilities around Data Analytics to serve up real-time insights on food-waste trends and donation patterns. These insights, displayed on a dashboard, enable better decision-making for both donors and organizations, helping to optimize surplus management and reduce food waste It will be further improved by including the integration of an interactive map, which will help donors and recipients be able to coordinate a delivery location without hassle. A built-in chat feature will further enable seamless communication between donors and recipients in ensuring smooth logistics and making the food donation process more reliable and efficient. FoodLink will combine automated matching with real-time analytics and seamless communication in a way that reduces food waste, saves time, and enhances the efficiency of food distribution for communities in need, thereby contributing to global food security
